To all REAP tenants. HCIDLA has temporarily closed its five public counters as a precautionary measure to help slow the spread of coronavirus (covid-19), and to help keep the public safe. During this covid-19 emergency, the reap unit has implemented some changes to the reap rental payment procedures as listed below. To continue to promote the safer at home order issued by the city of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and to encourage the practice of social social distancing during this time of heightened awareness, we are encouraging tenants to pay their rent by personal check, money order, or cashier’s check via mail to the address provided below only. We strongly encourage you to pay by personal check while the emergency order is in place. This change will be in effect for as long as the Safer at Home emergency order is in place.HCIDLA - ATTN: REAP/UMP PO Box 17460 Los Angeles, CA 90017-0460 If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the REAP Helpline at (844) 864-REAP (7327) or via email at hcidla.reap@lacity.org. Did you receive a Notice of Acceptance into the Rent Escrow Account Program (REAP)? If so, it is because the Department has cited violations on your property, and those violations were not corrected in the time allowed.

REAP is a program that encourages landlords to fix their properties and restore them to a safe and habitable condition.

REAP is defined in the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) § 162.00, et seq.

What is REAP?

REAP exists to resolve the most persistent health and safety and habitability issues found.
