Over the next 10 years, through 2026, all Covered Housing Developments will be surveyed by Accessibility Architects hired by the City to determine if they meet accessibility standards. Developments that do not meet these standards will be retrofitted for accessibility. The City will finance the improvements in any Covered Housing Development built before 2014 that lacks the required accessibility features.
Tenants residing in units to be retrofitted may have to temporarily relocate until the retrofit construction is complete, at no cost to the tenant.
