Assistant General Manager,
Housing Development

Daniel is responsible for directing and managing the operations of the Housing Development Bureau (HDB) which encompasses a wide range of housing activities. First time homebuyer assistance, Handyworker, and lead hazard remediation programs are also operated by the HDB.

Daniel has extensive experience in affordable housing development in Los Angeles, and has been a leader among the network of developers, lenders, equity investors and housing policy makers working to facilitate affordable housing production locally, serving on the Board of the Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing.

Prior to joining HCIDLA, Daniel was the Chief Real Estate Officer for LA Family Housing, and formerly with Abode Communities, A Community of Friends and East LA Community Corporation.

Daniel’s roots are deep in Los Angeles, having been born in French Hospital (Pacific Alliance Medical Center) in Chinatown. He attended LAUSD schools, then received his undergraduate and graduate degrees at UCLA. He lives with his partner in El Sereno.
