For existing Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) rental units, a property owner may recover possession of a rental unit to either demolish it or to remove the rental unit permanently from rental housing use (also known as the Ellis Act, a State law), per LAMC Sections 151.09.A.10 and 151.22-151.28.
